Dec. 25th was the birthday of Tammuz born to Nimrods wife years after he died. She claimed she conceived from a sun beam,…a virgin birth. The early christians in 5-600 AD were trying to convert the heathen and said Christ was born of a virgin, the heathen claimed Tammuz was also. So they said we need something in common with them so lets meld the two together and celebrate Chist birthday on Dec. 25th. Until then those closest to him had never celebrated his birthday.
Go to amazon and get The Two Babylons the Papal Worship by Rev. Alexander Hislop
Look up Tammuz
Is either of you willing to reconsider? Here is a link to another of our podcasts (with Doug Greenwold of Preserving Bible Times) which deals with the time frame during which Mary and Joseph would have been in Bethlehem and why. Both this and the next subsequent podcast would be worth your time, methinks.

Yes the Bible does say when! Luke 1:23 Gabriel told Elizabeth when her husband finished his order of service he would return home and she would be pregnant. She will have John the Baptist. When was that? Luke 1:5 says he was a temple priest in the order of Abijah, But when was that order he returned home from for her to get pregnant?
1 Chr 24 lists the priestly orders, Abijah is the 8th order, But when is that? The Jewish historian Josephus says the orders started on the first month of the Jewish religious calendar which starts about the first of April on our calendar. the orders were one week in length, and all of the priests were in the temple on the special feasts of passover, pentecost, and trumpets in the fall. So, 4 weeks in April, 4 in May, then that is pentecost time about the fist of June, so he is there until about the 7th of June. He lived 30 miles out in the hill country, lets round it of on the 15th of June Zechariah gets home to conceive John the Baptist which is born 9 months later in March the following year.
In Luke 1:36 Gabriel tells Mary her cousin Elizabeth is now in her sixth month and now she is pregnant, which means Jesus will be born 6 months after John the Baptist which was born in March. Add 9 months to Mach 15 and thats is about Sept. 15th. which is the feast of trumpets when the Jews all came to keep the feast. Thats why all the rome at the Inn were full. Elliott
Mary lived with John for many years after the death of Jesus. The Church has passed down many truths through tradition, including the date of Jesus birth. Dec 25. The exact year is less certain.
Mary also narrated much of her biography to a 16th century nun (Mary of Agreda in Spain) Sister Mary wrote all of this down and the work includes many things that authenticate it by being verified only after her death. When Mary was relating the story of Christ’s birth she said that Jesus was born at midnight on December 25, 5192 years after the creation of the world.
