Dr. Don Clark of Creation Moments relates the history of the Gap Theory from the nineteenth century when some biblical scholars caved in to the mystique of science, dividing Genesis 1:1 from Genesis 1:2 by inserting eons of time and populating it with mythology. (Article link)

    FYI – Hugh Ross pushes the Day-Age theory where each day of Creation week is actually millions of years. His faith in science far exceeds his faith in the Word of God. He uses the Bible to help justify his scientific beliefs but he has to use biblical gymnastics to make it work. Even though he says his goal is to bring people to Christ by reducing the scientific arguments against the Bible, I believe in the long run, it does more harm than good.
