    This is one subject that I already knew the answer to, because I studied this in college when I was studying for the ministry. (I never went into the ministry because the Lord let me know he was calling me to be an RN and not a minister.) I took a course on the Book of Acts and this very subject was discussed in class for the better part of three days. Very interesting discussion. Our conclusion was that although what the Church said and did in Jerusalem in the first century was somewhat socialist, there were too many elements and practices from the Church Fathers that negated the complete establishment of socialism.

    • Daniel, your point is well taken. Acts 2 may have played a role in Marx’s thinking, but what he devised was a perversion of it, a diminution. Thanks for your thoughts!
