Joshua 6:21 – “They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.” I should not have used the word “raped” though the intent was to convey the total destruction of life within the walls of Jericho. That was careless of me but it was intended as a metaphor for total annihilation. The word “invested” has a military connotation of taking a city by siege, which is essentially what was accomplished.
